Failed Polaroids
Occasionally a Polaroid will fail — maybe the camera is vintage, or the film expired — and fascinating images are created. This is an on-going series, where I collect beautifully failed Polaroids.
Resilience: The Land and Urban Spaces
Layered with urban and developed spaces, the land pushes through each frame, reclaiming it’s place — a reminder of what was before, and will be again. Captured on film, this series of double exposures speaks to the resilience and power of the land, and the importance of nature in urban spaces.
The image displayed here was selected for A. Smith Gallery's “open | unmoored” online exhibition, and featured in PhotoEd Magazine’s ‘The LAND’ Print + Digital Issue.
Trade Winds
Transformed by their saturated, and in some cases abstract colours, they feel like a memory vividly recalled. In a way, they are memory made visible, and would not exist if not for the original black & white images and an accidental discovery.
Two images from this series were featured in PhotoED Magazine’s ‘COLOUR’ Digital Bonus Issue.
Landscapes and Seascapes
A selection of Landscapes and Seascapes, primarily taken with my Lomography Belair X 6-12 Jetsetter camera.
Accidental Tourist Series
Studies of Mark for a creative project turned out more like a series of old tourist photos from the 60’s. I named the portrait series “The Accidental Tourist”.
The image shown here, “Accidental Tourist 04”, received Honorable Mention in the Film/Analog Portrait category in the International Photography Awards (IPA) 2023.
Holga Photography
The legendary history of Holga cameras all started with the Holga 120S — it’s the original Holga, the first model ever made and since discontinued. I adore my Holga 120S camera. It seems magical, with impossibly beautiful images. I love everything about Holga images — I love their dreamy quality, the miraculously sharp focus sometimes possible, and their delightfully unpredictable nature.
